Jan Knikker

Jan Knikker started his career as a journalist and editor at the French Riviera writing about real estate and life style. In 1999 he was hired by Rem Koolhaas to head OMA’s communication department and organise the OMA collection. For OMA / Rem Koolhaas, he personally developed the highly successful communication policy that has lead to OMA becoming one of the most visible and media savvy architecture offices in the world. He worked for almost a decade as editor and curator on countless publications and exhibitions such as Content and OMA in The Hague and their respective catalogues. Since 2008 he has been shaping the public appearance of MVRDV, working on many publications and exhibitions while also leading its business development efforts. MVRDV is rapidly expanding into new markets and focuses on solutions for global issues through its architecture and urbanism. Jan also lectures internationally, writes for various publications, runs an online design magazine called Dafne, and was from 2007 to 2011 member of the International Projects commission of the Netherlands Architecture Funds.
